Michael Schumacher’s nurse was raped twice by a former friend of the F1 legend’s son, a court was told.
Joey Mawson, 30, is accused of raping the unconscious woman after a cocktail party at the Schumacher’s family mansion in Switzerland in 2019. Mawson denies the allegations – and claims their relationship was consensual.
During the trial on Tuesday, a court was told that Mawson was staying at the mansion and playing pool in the billiard room with two other members of Schumacher’s staff when they were joined by the alleged victim.

According to the court indictment, the nurse became intoxicated and unable to stand, fell to the floor and had to be carried back to her room, fully clothed, by staff.
Prosecutors allege the rape took place later in the evening. When the nurse woke up she was naked, and allegedly could not remember what had happened, but felt pain and was in discomfort.
The court was told that the nurse had asked a fellow employee what had happened, and he told her that she had been carried up to her room and they had sent Mawson to check on her.
Mawson told the court that he had spent the night at the nurse’s apartment and had stayed until dawn as he “didn’t want the employees to know about the intimate moment”.
He added: “I hadn’t realised how drunk I actually was. It wasn’t until the next morning that I realised how drunk I had been. During the night, I had assumed she was less drunk than I realised the next morning.”
The racing driver claimed the nurse had been “flirtatious” and had instigated kissing and that they had “touched each other’s genitals”. He also claimed “she was not intoxicated, she was alert and conscious.”
Mawson told the court: “You could see from her body language she was being flirtatious. I knocked on her room and she invited me in.”
He claims that two videos which were provided to the court but not shown proved the nurse was “being flirtatious”. He also told the court he had sent a text to the nurse and apologised after hearing the allegations: “I’m sorry for any emotional damage and physical pain I caused you.”
Prosecutors also read out the text messages, which also said: “I’m so sorry from the bottom of my heart.” When asked why he sent those messages, he replied: “It was the gentlemanly thing to do but I had done nothing wrong.”
In his closing argument prosecutor Xavier Christe pointed to the differences between the racing drivers testimony and the statements he had given to investigators.
He questioned how Mawson had such a vivid memory of some events despite admitting large amounts alcohol.
Mawson had been a close friend of Mick Schumacher and had stayed with the family between races to avoid long return flights to Australia.
The Schumacher family are otherwise uninvolved in the case, and were not listed as witnesses at Nyon District Court.
The trial today is scheduled to finish at 6pm local time.
