An adult star has opened up about the devastating blackmail plot that turned her life upside down – before ultimately leading her into a staggering £50,000-a-month career. Maeurn Smiles grew up in poverty in the Philippines and was forced to drop out of school at just 17 when her family ran out of cash.
But the resilient 25-year-old has gone from living in a humble wooden hut to building a massive property portfolio, all thanks to a traumatic twist of fate.
The brunette, who now boasts over 3.4 million followers on her @maeurn.tv account, revealed her nightmare began when she sent explicit clips to a rogue user she thought was a genuine supporter.
Maeurn, who first joined the adult platform back in 2020, said: “I was trying to get into the industry and I sent a video to a stranger.
“I was hustling money and messaging people to buy my content because I didn’t really know how to make money at that time.
“He didn’t pay and used it against me and said if I didn’t send him more videos then he would send it to my family. My family didn’t know at that point and they’re Catholic. I was so scared because I was super young.”
Despite her desperate pleas, the heartless blackmailer weaponised the footage and leaked it online anyway.
Maeurn said: “At first, I was so hurt and I stayed in bed for a week. But it was actually the start of me having the confidence of making a go of it in adult content.
“It was out there already, it couldn’t hurt me anymore and I may as well give it a go. My family were shocked but they supported me.”
Before her life-changing success, Maeurn was grafting through exhausting 12-hour days teaching English online to Chinese students. Yet, despite the gruelling hours, she was still desperately struggling to make ends meet.
She said: “I grew up really quite poor. We lived in a wooden hut and when the owner decided to sell that land, we had to move to another place. It was hard and I had to leave school because we had no money.”
Everything shifted during the Covid-19 pandemic when Maeurn noticed other creators raking in eye-watering sums on an adult site and decided to try her luck.
She now pulls in a mind-blowing £50,000 every month and has used her adult industry wealth to become a savvy property mogul.
The glamour model has snapped up a gorgeous £220,000 home on a tropical Indonesian island and has also built a luxury, £75,000 four-bedroom paradise for her family back home.
Maeurn said: “My parents are very happy. They’re so supportive and my mum loves it when people say they’ve seen her daughter doing amazing things online. If anyone says anything negative, she defends me.”
The internet star credits much of her booming success to providing her loyal subscribers with the highly sought-after “girlfriend experience”, building deep, daily connections with her fans.
Maeurn added: “My subscribers would tell me that they love having that girlfriend experience with me because I’m this cute girl living in the Philippines and they love having that kind of relationship with me online.
“I talk to them every day, sending them snaps saying, ‘How are you babe? Are you doing well?’ I tell them about what I eat and my day to day life. And it’s just super fun because it’ll make their day.”
