Northamptonshire aircraft crash as folks rushed to hospital and roads closed

Two people have been rushed to hospital following a small plane crash landing in a field near Northampton earlier today (June 5).
The incident occurred at around 3pm and was close to the village of Pitsford in Northamptonshire.
A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: “We were called to a report of light aircraft crash near Pitsford.
“Two people have been taken to hospital for treatment, and an investigation into what happened has begun. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch have been informed.”
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews were called shortly after 15:45 BST to reports of a light aircraft coming down in a field, and on arrival firefighters helped to close off nearby roads to ensure emergency vehicles could access the scene.
“Two people have been evacuated from the aircraft, and have been left in the care of paramedics. The fire service remains at the scene and is continuing to assist police and ambulance.”
