Sydney Sweeney is roasted after sudden wardrobe malfunction at NBA Final
Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney and her boyfriend Scooter Braun attended Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night
Sydney Sweeney’s courtside presence at Game 5 of the NBA Finals quickly ignited chatter across social media, with New York Knicks fans voicing fears that the actress might bring bad luck to their team.
Sweeney, 28, was spotted at Saturday evening’s face-off between the Knicks and Spurs in San Antonio, accompanied by her boyfriend Scooter Braun, 44. The Euphoria star donned a personalised Jalen Brunson jersey-style T-shirt teamed with denim while cheering on New York.
Supporters were swift to point out that it appeared as though the actress had her jersey on backwards. Sweeney’s white top featured Knicks colours and Brunson’s number 11, which she unusually wore on the front.
Sweeney’s faux pas follows Stephen A. Smith blaming Donald Trump’s ‘disruption’ for the Knicks’ single loss in the NBA Finals. On social media, fans ribbed the Euphoria actress for her attire, reports the Irish Star.
One social media user quipped, “Why does it look like she’s wearing it backwards?”. While another added, “Looks to me like her shirt is on backwards.” A third chimed in, “Why is she wearing it backwards though?”.
Sydney’s attendance failed to instil confidence among certain Knicks fans watching the match, who promptly took to social media platforms to air their responses, according to The Mirror US.
“Knicks are losing,” one user commented beneath a photo of her. Meanwhile another joined in, “Spurs are winning. “Hopefully, she’ll be a good luck charm for the Knicks,” one more hopeful fan remarked.
Sweeney and Braun had previously been spotted at Game 4 at Madison Square Garden earlier that week. Braun later disclosed that Sweeney had surprised him with tickets “in the same section” as his father and brother so he could “share it” with them.
Throughout that match, Sweeney and Braun were positioned several rows behind Taylor Swift, as the Knicks clinched a vital win. The couple showed their passion during the encounter and shared countless affectionate moments while sitting together.
Braun marked the occasion with an Instagram post following the game.
“Still buzzing and haven’t slept all night as that was one of the greatest nights of my life. That is what sports and basketball are all about. It brings people together,” Braun wrote in the caption, which included videos of him celebrating with his father, Ervin Braun, and his brother, Adam Braun.
At the Madison Square Garden fixture, Sweeney accompanied Braun, sporting a windbreaker and adding bespoke vintage Manolo Blahnik heels adorned with a miniature basketball charm.
The pair then travelled to Los Angeles, where Sweeney appeared on Friday at a promotional event for her Syrn lingerie brand. She sported a blue-and-white outfit and wore a Must de Cartier watch.
