Major UK clothes model shuts down after 41 years as firm enters liquidation
Original Blues, a UK knitwear brand founded in 1985, has ceased trading after entering voluntary liquidation after 41 years in business.

A UK clothing brand has joined the ranks of several others as it plunges into liquidation after 41 years. The knitwear label is set to close its doors after entering voluntary liquidation on June 4.
Original Blues, established in 1985, has provided “unrivalled” cotton knitwear for over four decades. Now, the brand has ceased trading. As reported by The Gazette, Neum Insolvency Ltd have been appointed as liquidators.
The online store has already been closed and is now password protected, reports the Mirror.
The clothing brand crafted products from 100% cotton using Indigo dye with every item being made in England.
“Every piece in our Original Blues collection has been conceived and created by our own in-house design team whose inspiration is drawn from the natural world, in particular nautical and marine themes,” the Original Blues website previously stated.
“So we can offer you an unrivalled range of unique, top quality knitwear incorporating a host of innovative and imaginative designs, textures and patterns.”
The company’s website now links to a “password protected” section, with all items pulled from sale. The only section that still works is “product info” which details how the iconic items are made.
This closure follows the shutdown of several other clothing stores in the UK. High street retailer, Quiz entered administration on February 5 for the second time in less than a year, resulting in all stores closing their doors.
