Donald Trump has sparked confusion after sharing a bizarre Father’s Day weekend post praising a mystery blonde as a “great daughter” – triggering fresh fears over his cognitive health. The 80-year-old president baffled social media users on Saturday by posting a throwback photo of a woman dressed in all black, just hours before Father’s Day officially kicked off.
Left-field captions are nothing new for the commander-in-chief, but this one left even his most dedicated followers scratching their heads. Trump wrote: “Great daughter,” before signing off the mysterious post with: “My Honor!!! President DJT.”
The photo immediately triggered a frantic online hunt to identify the woman, given that Trump famously has five children by three different wives.
He shares Donald Jr, 48, Ivanka, 44, and Eric, 42, with his late ex-wife Ivana Trump; Tiffany, 32, with Marla Maples; and his youngest son Barron, 20, with First Lady Melania.
While the White House has kept tight-lipped, internet sleuths quickly claimed the woman is actually Margo Catsimatidis, the wife of billionaire supermarket mogul and staunch Trump ally John Catsimatidis.
Commenters also pointed out that the backdrop looks strikingly like Camp David during the Clinton era of the 1990s. X, formerly Twitter, exploded with confusion as users demanded answers.
One user asked: “No, seriously. Who is that?” Another posted: “Wait, who the hell IS this woman though? Because this photo looks like it’s from the 1990s.”
A third amateur detective added: ‘It’s Margo Catsimatidis. No idea why he’s mentioning it’s his honor and daughter,’
However, the tone quickly turned serious as critics seized on the erratic post as supposed proof that the ageing president is suffering a physical and mental slip.
One worried onlooker posted: “This HAS to be dementia.” Another critic wrote: “Another piece of evidence of mental decline. The president is suffering from dementia. Somehow, MAGA will spin this.”
Sharing a personal warning, a third person added: “My mother has dementia. She was doing stuff that made no sense, like this is the beginning. We took her phone away.”
Despite the online storm, Trump, his medical team and the White House have continuously insisted he is at the peak of fitness.
True to form, Trump bounced back on Sunday morning, seemingly brushing off the drama with a loud, capitalised celebration of his administration’s claimed achievements.
He posted: “Happy Father’s Day! Our Country is doing GREAT. Record Jobs Numbers and Stock Market, BEST ECONOMY EVER! Greatest Military in the World, by far.
“We are WINNING on all fronts, WINNING LIKE NEVER BEFORE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
The strange social media post comes hot on the heels of intense speculation surrounding Trump’s physical appearance at the recent G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains, France.
Eagle-eyed onlookers spotted a jagged, purple mark stretching across his left hand during a thumbs-up gesture.
Trump has previously admitted to masking discoloration on his right hand with makeup, blaming the bruising on a high daily aspirin dose combined with constant handshaking.
Just last month, Trump’s physician, US Navy Captain Sean Barbarella, released a medical report declaring that the commander-in-chief “remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical function.”
