Norway coach’s daughter turns into ‘darling of the World Cup’ after viral snap

Norway coach Stale Solbakken’s stunning daughter has become the ‘darling of the World Cup’ after the jaw-dropping 22-year-old caught the spotlight after a viral picture

Norway are so far proving their case as dark horses in the World Cup with two wins from two games under the stewardship of Stale Solbakken.

Erling Haaland and co beat Senegal 3-2 in New York on Monday in a crucial game that secured their progression to the knockout stages. The victory in Norway’s fourth-ever World Cup means they could even top the group if they beat France in the final group game.

Norway last reached the World Cup in 1998 and the celebrations from players and fans alike were matched by their families as Solbakken embraced his wife Anniken.

Their heart-warming moment was reposted by their 22-year-old daughter Ida, who wrote: “It doesn’t get bigger than this.”

Ida has captured the attention through her stunning looks, blonde hair and toned body. She is a medical student and boasts over 12,000 followers on Instagram.

Her Instagram showcases her travels around the world in jaw-dropping bikini snaps, and seemingly her long-term boyfriend Tannis, who appears in posts on her page.

Ida is the youngest of three children, and the middle child Markus has followed his father’s footsteps as a professional footballer for Danish Superliga club AGF.

Markus was even called up to the Norway squad by his father in September 2023, where he played in the 6-0 friendly win over Jordan, but he didn’t score.

The eldest Solbakken, son Sondre, welcomed a baby girl in 2023 with his partner, making Stale and Anniken grandparents, and Ida an auntie.

However, the Solbakken family’s life could have been completely different after Stale suffered a heart attack in March 2001 during training with Danish side Copenhagen.

Stale was quickly tended to by club doctor Frank Odgaard and an ambulance was immediately called for. When medical personnel arrived, he was pronounced clinically dead at the scene but he was revived in the ambulance on the way to the hospital nearly seven minutes later.

He was fitted with a pacemaker and was forced to retire from football. Stale then went into management at Norwegian side Hamarkameratene before returning to Copenhagen.

Stale went on to manage Koln and Wolves before heading back to Copenhagen again, and eventually landing the Norway manager job in 2020.
