Man Utd followers slam ‘inept’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe as rivals swoop for £80m switch goal
Manchester United are yet to complete any signings so far this summer transfer window, despite Michael Carrick guiding the Premier League giants back into the Champions League

Manchester United chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe is facing a backlash from fans over the club’s failure to make summer signings.
Supporters have become angered after club bosses failed to add a new name to Michael Carrick’s squad. Despite the season finishing more than a month ago – United have still not splashed the cash. And to make matters worse, several leading targets appear to be heading to rival clubs.
United agreed a deal with Atalanta to sign Brazilian midfielder Ederson, 26, weeks ago – but the move has still not been completed. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have pulled out of the race to sign England and Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson, 23, who is destined to join neighbours and bitter rivals Manchester City in a £130m deal.

United have also been locked in talks with West Ham about landing Mateus Fernandes. But both clubs have been unable to agree a fee, and Tottenham could be set to steal in and beat United to Fernandes after offering him bigger wages.
Fernandes would prefer to join United, but Ratcliffe is not prepared to get into a bidding war with the Hammers for the 21-year-old midfielder, valued at £80m by the Hammers.
United have also been priced out of moves for Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali, 26, and Brighton prospect Carlos Baleba, 22.
While there is no sign of United being any closer to luring Aurelien Tchouameni, 26, from Real Madrid.
The uncertainty surrounding the future of Marcus Rashford is adding to United’s problems. Ratcliffe is desperate to get the £325,000-a-week star off the wage bill – to held fund incomings.
But United have no takers for the 28-year-old, after Barcelona rejected to the chance to sign him in a £24m deal. Supporters have taken to social media to blast Ratcliffe’s failure to back Carrick as “inept” and “amateurish”.
