Arsenal information: Eight gamers launched as six new transfers ‘being labored on’

Arsenal have already confirmed the departures of a number of players this summer, while the club is also working on a number of potential signings to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad

Mikel Arteta is already deep into constructing the next squad he believes can create history for Arsenal. This campaign brings the honour of defending a Premier League title.

Not even Arteta himself was blessed with experiencing that sensation as a player, but he will aim to steer through it just as his former mentor, Arsene Wenger, managed all those years ago. And with that comes the necessity to show some steel in the transfer market.

He’s already demonstrated his credentials in that respect after severing links with a host of names. Daily Star Sport explores who has departed through the exit door, alongside who might be poised to join, as director Andrea Berta evaluates a series of prospective additions.

Eight players officially departed the Emirates on Wednesday, July 1, once their Arsenal deals reached their conclusion dates, reports the Mirror.

The club had previously announced intentions to part ways with several academy prospects this summer, though there’s always a possibility those plans might alter.

However, this time around, Sam Chapman, Harrison Dudziak, Seb Ferdinand, Cam’ron Ismail, Will Lannin-Sweet, Josh Nichols, Samuel Onyekachukwu and Alexei Rojas-Fedorushchenko all left on Wednesday.

In addition to the eight released players, defender Jakub Kiwior and goalkeeper Karl Hein have also moved on. Kiwior has made a permanent switch to Porto following a loan spell last season, while Hein has similarly joined Werder Bremen.

Six deals being worked on

As for incoming transfers, the only deal Arsenal have finalised so far this summer is the £34.5million acquisition of Piero Hincapie. The Ecuadorian spent last season on loan at the Emirates from Bayer Leverkusen and evidently did enough to convince the club he was worth the investment.

However, director Berta and head of scouting Maurizio Micheli are reportedly working on six other deals currently. The Daily Mail pointed out Berta’s habit of working on multiple deals at once, typically casting a wide net before narrowing down his options.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Paris Saint-Germain sensation Bradley Barcola represent the primary candidates to enhance the left flank. Leandro Trossard has been tipped for a departure from the Emirates, while Gabriel Martinelli could also seek pastures new.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Kerim Alajbegovic has similarly entered discussions regarding strengthening Arsenal’s options in wide areas. Greece striker Christos Tzolis is also under consideration following reports he was presented to the Gunners by Belgian outfit Genk.

Regarding midfield reinforcements, Bournemouth’s Alex Scott and Newcastle skipper Bruno Guimaraes emerge as the frontrunners. Arsenal have allegedly had two bids for the latter turned down, with the second reportedly valued at £55m.
