Arsenal information: £43m star ‘agrees private phrases’ as agent jets in to finish switch

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on the signing of France star Manu Kone, while another star is also expected to leave the club as his agent heads to Istanbul for talks with Besiktas

Arsenal are poised to finalise two deals that could significantly impact the remainder of their summer transfer activity.

Piero Hincapie’s £34.5million acquisition remains the Gunners’ sole completed business to date, though that appears destined to alter in the immediate future. The World Cup has created complications by diverting attention from some of the planet’s finest talent. Nevertheless, that standstill will shortly become history as the competition has now reached its closing fortnight.

Mikel Arteta has matters to address regarding both incoming signings and outgoing departures as a hectic July intensifies. Daily Star Sport examines the latest whispers emerging from north London as the Gunners assemble their preparations for pre-season.

Personal terms ‘settled’ with Manu Kone

France international Manu Kone could emerge as the first completely fresh arrival to join Arsenal this summer.

Corriere della Sera claims Arsenal have not only conducted discussions with his advisors but personal terms have already been finalised between both sides, reports the Mirror.

This would indicate the Gunners require only an agreement on a transfer fee with his present employers, Roma, before securing the player. Yet his participation with France at the World Cup this summer may cause delays to the negotiations.

Kone, who comes highly recommended by Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, has featured in three of France’s five World Cup matches so far this summer. This includes full 90-minute performances in the group-stage victories over Norway and Iraq, followed by another dominant display in the last-16 match against Paraguay.

Roma are reportedly valuing the midfield linchpin at approximately £43m, a sum that would comfortably fit within Arsenal’s budget. The 25-year-old still has three years remaining on the contract he signed when he joined the Giallorossi in 2024.

Arteta’s midfield choices seemed stretched last season due to injuries to players such as Mikel Merino and skipper Martin Odegaard.

Leandro Trossard transfer reaches pivotal stage

Leandro Trossard’s agents are said to be preparing to jet off to Istanbul for decisive talks with Besiktas.

The Black Eagles have been linked with the Belgian winger for several months now and appear to be on the brink of sealing the deal.

Turkish newspaper Sabah reported Arsenal have agreed a package for Trossard believed to be worth around £15.5m. That’s slightly less than the previously anticipated £17m fee for the winger’s move.

Reports also suggest Trossard’s agent and lawyer were in London earlier this week, presumably to finalise matters with the Gunners. However, it remains unconfirmed whether the Belgian star has agreed to personal terms.

Earlier in the summer, reports from Turkey indicated Besiktas fell significantly short of meeting the player’s demands. Trossard was reportedly offered an annual wage of approximately £8.3m (roughly £160,000 per week) to join Saudi club Diriyah earlier this summer.
