BREAKING England staff information vs Norway as double resolution ‘made’ for World Cup quarter-final
England are set to take on Norway in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup on Saturday evening, with Thomas Tuchel’s team all but confirmed hours ahead of the 10pm kick-off in Miami
Marc Guehi and John Stones are expected to start England’s quarter-final World Cup clash against Norway on Saturday evening, as Thomas Tuchel is forced into a number of selection decisions.
The Three Lions have been struck by both player injury and suspension as they head into their final-eight clash with Norway in Miami at 10pm, Reece James battling a hamstring issue since early into the tournament while Jarell Quansah is unavailable for selection until the final – should England make it that far.
The Bayer Leverkusen was brought into the fray by Tuchel for his nation’s clash with Mexico on Monday morning, lasting just 54 minutes before he was sent for an early shower as a result of a high challenge on Jesus Gallardo.

While Guehi has also been involved in a race against time this week, missing a number of training sessions after picking up a minor hamstring strain at the Estadio Azteca, Daily Star Sport understands that the Manchester City centre-half will start against Norway.
It is also understood that Ezri Konsa will shift over to right-back in place of Quansah – given Djed Spence has also been hit with a minor injury of his own – while Stones will slot in as Guehi’s centre-half pairing.
Noni Madueke, meanwhile, is set to be given the nod ahead of Bukayo Saka who is being managed carefully during the final stages of the tournament across North America.
Declan Rice is also seemingly fine to start, despite suffering a sickness bug this week which has affected his ability to prepare with the rest of the team.
Here’s how Daily Star Sport understand that England will line-up against Norway: Pickford, O’Reilly, Guehi, Stones, Konsa, Rice, Anderson, Gordon, Bellingham, Madueke, Kane.
