Outback killer refused to disclose location of Brit’s physique in ultimate police interview

New camera footage shows Bradley John Murdoch, who shot dead Brit backpacker Peter Falconio, point blank refusing to reveal where his body lies.

New footage has emerged showing a brutal killer refusing to reveal the location of his Brit victim’s body. New camera footage shows Bradley John Murdoch, who shot dead Brit backpacker Peter Falconio, point blank refusing to reveal where his body lies.

Murdoch murdered Brit Peter, 28, while he was travelling with his girlfriend Joanne Lees through the Australian outback. He never revealed where he had disposed of his body, and the secret died with him after he died of throat cancer in 2025 aged 67.

In newly released bodycam footage from his time behind bars, Australian police can be heard pleading with Murdoch to release the information before he died.

One officer can be heard asking: “I need you to have a think about if Peter Falconio was your son… and somebody knew something about where his body was.”

Murdoch replied: “I don’t know anything about it. Don’t beat around the bush because I’m just going to cut you short every time, okay? I know nothing. I’ve said this for 22 years. I know nothing. You keep asking these questions. I know nothing.”

When the officer asks Murdoch to think again, the prisoner launched into an expletive-riddled rant, before saying: “I’m not thinking about it. I’ve thought about. I thought about it for 22 f***ing years.

“I’ve said the same story over and over and over, and now you’re here at the last minute because I’m f***ing dying. I don’t have information. This is what I’m trying to say to you. I don’t have this information.”

Murdoch is the last man to have seen Peter alive after he ambushed the backpacker and his girlfriend on a remote highway on July 14, 2001.

It is reported that he tricked the couple into pulling over, saying there was something wrong with the car, before pulling out a gun and shooting Peter in the head.

Joanne was bound with cable ties by Murdoch but she managed to escape while Murdoch went to dispose of Peter’s body. Murdoch has always maintained his innocence but was found guilty by a unanimous jury verdict in 2005 and sentenced to life-imprisonment.

Police have scoured the area around Barrow’s Creek where Peter was killed – but have never found any sign of his body. Twenty-five years later, his family have still not given up hope, with Peter’s mother making a recent heart-breaking plea.

Joan Falconio urged anyone with information to come forward and contact police in an interview with The Sun. She said: “If anybody knows anything, anything at all, please get in touch with police

“However slight you think it is, even though it’s been 25 years, anything. I do hope I will find Peter in my lifetime and in my husband’s lifetime.”
