David Beckham’s passionate World Cup dialog revealed after Victoria’s viral second
A lip reading expert has deciphered an animated conversation between David Beckham and Timothée Chalamet as the pair watched a football match together.
The Beckham family has been drawing plenty of attention recently after Victoria was spotted looking less than impressed at England’s last match against Norway. While David enthusiastically belted out the national anthem, Victoria watched the game throughout the night with a slight pout – as is her custom.
However some fans from home said it must be serious for Posh to even be at the event, with her rarely appearing at any fixtures. The pair rubbed shoulders with other A-listers last night for the Spain vs France match (July 14), including Hollywood star Timothee.
Chalamet and Becks could be seen engaging in an exciting conversation – but the topic remains a mystery.
However, speaking to Betfair Casino, lip reading expert Nicola Hickling decoded the pair’s exchange, which later turned to a sporting comparison involving Chalamet’s favourite basketball team, the New York Knicks, with Beckham firmly dismissing the suggestion.
The former England captain and Hollywood actor were seen discussing the action on the pitch, with Beckham predicting Spain were likely to win while encouraging Chalamet that only “one goal” was needed to change the momentum.
Chalamet, who is also half French, also weighed in, insisting France “need to get stuck in”.
The conversation was reportedly as follows…
David Beckham: Penalty changes a lot
Timothee Chalamet: It’s a lot
DB: They need to score one goal, (repeats) one goal, just to pick it up.
DB: Spain are likely to win now
TC: France need to get stuck in
DB: yeah
DB: You can’t compare them to the Knicks
Shakes his head and Timothee responds (inaudible)
DB: It all matters, they are not better
Beckham Shakes his head
DB: No
The pair were also joined by the Beckham kids. Harper, who celebrated her 15th birthday in recent weeks, was in the stands with her brother Cruz and his girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, in Texas.
Cruz, the Beckhams‘ third son, was born in Madrid in 2005 when Sir David was playing for the Galacticos.
The family temporarily relocated to Spain during Beck’s four-year stint at the Bernabeu from 2003 to 2007. Born in the Spanish capital, Cruz holds Spanish citizenship in addition to his British passport. His name is the Spanish word for “cross”.
