Alexandra Daddario sends followers wild as White Lotus star poses in England package once more
The Hollywood A-lister’s has been rooting for the Three Lions throughout the World Cup – but even her support couldn’t help England against Argentina
The support of Hollywood actress Alexandra Daddario proved in vain as England crawled out of the World Cup with a whimper.
The 40-year-old stunner, best known for roles in The White Lotus and in films such as Baywatch and Wildflower, has emerged as one of the Three Lions’ most unlikely supporters in North America. Daddario has regularly shared pictures of herself on social media wearing England colours and attended the draw with Ghana and the quarter-final victory over Norway.
She was willing on Thomas Tuchel’s side again against Argentina in the semis. While not at the game in Atlanta, Daddario didn’t hesitate to dig out her England shirt again and posted a picture of herself standing in front of a big screen with the words: “Go England.”

The post went down well with her growing army of English followers, attracting 384,000 likes. One follower replied: “Cheers for surporting us, hun.” Another added: “Queen supporting England.”
Sadly, her support was in vain as Tuchel’s tactical disaster-class after Anthony Gordon’s goal invited Argentina to crank up the pressure. The dam eventually burst with late goals from Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez sending the South Americans through to face Spain in Sunday’s final.
New York-born Daddario has at least enjoyed herself over the last few weeks, if her social media posts are anything to go by. During the dour draw with Ghana, she snapped several pictures and videos of herself inside the stadium.
Wearing a white England shirt, the brunette looked every bit a Three Lions fanatic as she cheered on Tuchel’s men in Boston. She even managed to get a close-up picture of David Beckham, who was a few rows higher up in the VIP section. The England and Manchester United icon even appeared to give Daddario a thumbs-up.
She then made the trip to Miami for the Norway game. Again seated in the posh seats, Daddario was keen to take in the view from the regular match-going fans, only to be ushered back to the corporate area. She posted: “Got kicked out trying to sneak into the stands.”
It remains to be seen whether Daddario’s support for England will be a long-term relationship or merely a World Cup fling. But the team needs all the support it can get after the agonising manner of the semi-final defeat.
Most of the heat is on Tuchel, whose late-game tactic of piling defenders behind the ball completely backfired. Asked if he believed he got his decisions wrong, the England boss said: “No, I believe that’s just the nature of the game.
“As soon as you lose, you get criticised. That’s just what it is and get criticised after. No one knows what would have happened if we made different decisions.
“So, it makes no sense to engage in that and lose my head. I’m responsible for them, I took them, so I take the criticism. That’s just the way it is.”
