Although this weekend will be a bit chillier than we’ve been used to of late, weather forecasting models are suggesting yet another heatwave is coming next week.

The Met Office forecasters say temperatures may drop to 28C in southern areas today and 24C in northern regions. On Sunday, peak temperatures are going to be 26C in the south and 24C in the north.

It may be a relief for many, with the 13-day streak of consecutive 30C days we’ve been enjoying now over. And so ends the UK’s third heatwave of the summer…with the fourth just round the corner, according to GFS weather model.

Maps show that next Saturday there will be potential highs of 33C in the south of England, with parts of Wales reaching 30C. In the Midlands and East Anglia, people could enjoy temperatures of up to 32C.

On Sunday, July 26 – people will definitely roast, according to the data. The GFS model shows potential highs of 36C right across southern and central England, stretching from Gloucestershire to East Anglia.

The following Monday also looks set to be a warm day, with data showing highs of 33C are possible in eastern England and South Yorkshire. The north-west could reach 31C.
