Horrifying ultimate moments of hiker, 31, killed by crocodile revealed after DNA check
Brittany Clark, 31, died following a fatal alligator attack during a visit to Little Big Econ State Forest in Central Florida on 28 June, with DNA testing now confirming the 13-foot gator responsible
The alligator that savagely killed hiker Brittany Clark in Florida has been identified through DNA analysis, according to reports.
Clark, 31, dead after her arms were torn apart during a trip with her boyfriend and flatmate to Little Big Econ State Forest in Central Florida on June 28. In the aftermath of the assault, trappers killers two massive gators – one approximately 12-foot and another 13-foot – discovered in the Econlockhatchee River.
Authorities from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) confirmed DNA gathered from the larger, 13-foot alligator proved it was behind the fatal assault, WCJB reported.
The DNA was analysed at a laboratory in Gainesville and the medical examiner also verified bite wounds on Clark’s body matched one of the two gators.
FWC authorities stated the probe continues and further details will be released once the investigation wraps up.
Construction worker Clark was taking a dip in the river with her boyfriend, Chance Allison, and flatmate, Jayden Hernandez, when tragedy unfolded.
Allison frantically attempted to pull Clark away from the creature as it clamped its teeth into her, while their dogs battled to ward it off from the riverbank.
Devastated Allison, 30, revealed to The Post that Clark used some of her dying moments while awaiting emergency crews to plead with him to care for her German Shepherd, Hokie.
“It was one of the last things she said to me. I can’t recall anything else,” said the heartbroken partner, who had also brought his Pitbull-mix, Bulma, along for the hiking trip.
Clark’s father disclosed that he had received a distressing call from her flatmate as his daughter lay bleeding out. “They were trying to keep her alive and waiting for the authorities to show up,” Robert Clark, 57, told The Post.
Robert, a semi-retired motorcycle technician and former US Navy serviceman, said the family was already grappling with the loss of his mother, Barbara, 80, when they were hit with the horrific news of his daughter’s brutal death.
