World Cup closing mess as Donald Trump causes four-hour queues for followers at MetLife Stadium
Football fans have been told to arrive at MetLife Stadium four hours before kick-off as Donald Trump’s presence at the World Cup final has caused chaos with massive queues

The World Cup final has already been overshadowed by chaos as fans and media face massive queues just to enter MetLife Stadium.
Football’s ultimate showcase is being hosted by the New York stadium – but, according to reports, there is increased security due to Donald Trump’s presence – the only World Cup match he is watching in person.
And, as a result of the President’s presence, the United States Secret Service has taken over security for the game. The BBC report there are two levels of security at the stadium, both overseen by the secret service and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

The TSA is usually responsible for security at airports in the United States – and reports online suggest there are airport-style scanners at the final.
While Sky News’ Rob Harris posted: “Fans told to get to the World Cup final stadium now 4 hours before KO – already security staff saying FIFA system glitches not scanning passes and long queues forming.
“With extra security. People being misdirected around the stadium with a lack of stewarding and staffing…”

And Sports Business Journal’s Alex Silverman added: “FIFA/MetLife Stadium extremely ill-prepared for the amount of press here for the World Cup Final.
“Line to enter is hundreds deep. People sent to the wrong place initially. Very frustrating.”
Daily Star Sports’ sister paper, the Mirror, reported it was “chaotic” and arrived to massive lines at the media entrance. Their report said: “Staff sent hundreds of media to different gates to disperse the lines, only for all to be turned away and sent back…”

Spain and Argentina will battle it out for football’s ultimate prize, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm UK time.
Argentina broke English hearts on Wednesday evening to reach the final – fighting back from behind to ensure the Three Lions’ 60-years of hurt will extended for at least another two years.
Meanwhile Spain stunned pre-tournament favourites France to book their spot at MetLife.
