Manchester United’s new £50million signing Andrey Santos made his debut against Wrexham on Saturday and Michael Carrick will be hoping he can add more talent to his squad during pre-season.
However, the result wasn’t what Michael Carrick would have hoped for as the Welsh outfit claimed a 1-0 victory, while Santos was in the thick of it during the 45 minutes he played. The former Chelsea midfielder represents one of three fresh senior additions this summer, alongside Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow.

France midfielder Manu Kone stays on United’s shortlist of targets. Indeed, according to reports from Italy, the Premier League club could challenge Roma’s resolve regarding Kone as early as today.
The Giallorossi are seeking more than £42.5m for the 25-year-old, it has been suggested. That would mark a substantial profit on a player who cost them merely £15.3m.
Kone, who has turned out 82 times for Roma, was included in the France World Cup squad and allegedly requested his representatives postpone any transfer talks until after the tournament. He featured five times for Didier Deschamps’ team in North America, starting the knockout victories against Paraguay and Morocco.
Vitek keeping options open

United goalkeeper Radek Vitek is willing to depart Old Trafford either permanently or on loan this summer. The Czech prospect shone during his loan spell at Bristol City last season and is eager to spend the current campaign as a first-choice keeper again.
“I feel great and ready to go again somewhere to be, hopefully, number one, so we will see,” Vitek said after a second-half appearance against Wrexham. “We will see what is going to happen.
“At the moment, I am still here, but we will see. I hope so. I hope there will be some interest. I think you will know when things are more concrete.”
