Burnham’s final Manchester tour for Trump – curry pyramid, Vimto statue and UFO spot
Andy Burnham has offered to show Donald Trump round Manchester in the first conversation between the two world leaders. The city will host the G20 summit of world leaders next year.
And Mr Burnham invited the Orange Manbaby – who previously referred to the new PM as the mayor “of some town” – to his former stomping ground and said he “hoped to be able to show the President what Manchester had to offer during a visit in the future.”
Here, your Daily Star looks at some of the alternative things the US President could get up to when Mr Burnham shows him round the city region he used to reign over.

Stockport Pyramid
Once the headquarters of the Co-Operative bank, the distinctive structure has dominated the Stockport skyline for decades and been a staple sight for commuters on the M60.
Now it is home to the word’s largest Pakistani curry house, the Royal Nawaab, an extravagant 400-cover restaurant and banqueting hall. Since opening last year, it has attracted a number of high profile guests, including the likes of Tyson Fury and Paddy McGuinness
With its gold-played decor and palm tree lined hall, where better to start Mr Trump’s whistle stop tour of Greater Manchester?

Vimto monument
A noted teetotaler, Mr Trump is famed for his love of Diet Coke. But we’re confident Mr Burnham get him hooked on some proper pop. And what better than the legendary Manchester-made fruity drink.
There is even a statue dedicated to the beloved beverage in Vimto Park, near Piccadilly train station. It boasts a giant retro bottle of Vimto surrounded by the fruity ingredients that go into creating the unique drink.

Piccadilly Gardens
While he’s nearby, Trump can take in the sights and delights of Piccadilly Gardens, a dedicated green space on the edge of the city’s trendy Northern Quarter.
It should be the jewel in the crown of the city. But in recent years it has been blighted by drug users and crime. As one social media wag put it: “Take him to see the crackheads in Piccadilly Gardens.”
Though the pigeons may make native New Yorker Trump feel right at home.

The indestructible post box
The humble red post box is a common sight in the UK, but one in Manchester city centre stands out for his sheer indestructibility. When a 3,300lb IRA bomb exploded in the city centre in 1996, it survived almost unscathed by the blast.
It became a small but mighty symbol for resilience in the face of terrorism. It was removed during the rebuilding of the city centre in the aftermath of the bomb and later returned to its original site. It was inscribed with a plaque in 1999.

UFO landing pad
Trump has a huge interest in aliens and recently ordered for the release of hundreds of top secret US government files relating to UFO encounters. So where better to take him than an actual UFO landing pad in the city.
It is located in a park in Hulme that was built in the late 90s and was the brainchild of late architecture lecturer David Ellis, who was a follower of a practice known as geomancy, an ancient form of divination that seeks to interpret the earth’s energies.
The unassuming park, just south of the city centre, was said to be chosen fro the site of the landing due to the fact that all the ley lines in Manchester converge there. But he’d have a job finding the pad as no one is actually sure where it is.
