Andy Burnham has responded to the pleas of a bride-to-be after she was concerned his police entourage would ruin her big day.
The new PM opened 10 North at Heron House in central Manchester on Friday and a bride who tied the knot at the registry office in the building was greeted by armed police waiting outside for Mr Burnham’s arrival at the building in Albert Square.
Mr Burnham called opening the office “the best day of my life” and despite the building now being the operations site of No 10 North there also happens to host the city’s registry office on the ground floor.

Regardless of the change, weddings are going ahead as normal despite the VIP visitors in the building since the shake-up.
And bride-to-be, worried about being upstaged by Burnham, dropped a social media video asking the PM’s security team to stay at home during her big day. In response the North PM popped up into the woman’s comment section and stated: “Noted Saz.”
During the video the concerned social media user stated: “This is a video for Andy Burnham and Andy Burnham only. Andy. Hi. Uh, just a quick one. So I saw that you set up your new gaff, No. 10 North at Heron House.
“Saw it on the news. Gorgeous. Love what you’ve done with the place. I’m actually getting married there on the 21st of August. Right. And on the news today, the place was surrounded with police bollards, all sorts.
“A lot of stuff that wasn’t there before. My trouble is, um, I was planning to get nice photos, you know, like after the registry office, outside. And I’m just. I’m just a bit worried that all of this is kind of ruining the vibe.
“So I would really appreciate it if you were maybe not there that day. I mean, you welcome, you’re invited, but maybe without the escorts, the police escorts, the guys with the rifles and shit, cause I’ve got a content creator coming, so I don’t really know what we’re gonna do if it’s surrounded by the military and police, you know, um, just so much to think on.

“No pressure, but if you could, you know, maybe give them an hour off. Yeah, I’m just a little bit concerned about that. Thank you. Bye.”
The video has been viewed more than 250,000 times and commentators have been sent into a frenzy after Burnham responded to the woman’s pleas. One commenter wrote: “The fact Andy Burnham’s account has responded.”
Another added: “You could get him to do a DJ set at the party.”
A final commenter joked: “There were more subtle ways he could have hinted he wanted an invite.”
