On-the-run little one rapist might get early launch regardless of by no means spending a day in jail

A sick child rapist who raped a girl from the age of nine at least 21 times could reportedly be up for early release despite not having served a single day in prison

A child rapist currently on the run could reportedly be eligible for an early release due to jail overcrowding – despite never serving a day of his prison sentence. Brian Green, 76, fled the UK after he was granted bail before his trial on five rape charges.

It is believed he is currently in Thailand after being jailed for 22 years in his absence at Leeds Crown Court in 2024. The sick predator was found guilty of raping a child from the age of nine at least 21 times.

But his victim – who fought for years for justice – has now been told he will be eligible for early release if cops ever catch him, it is reported.

The victim, who was abused from the ages of nine to 13, said she had been contacted by liaison officers. She told The Sun: “I got an email with the subject ‘Developments’ and thought ‘they’ve got him’.

“But it read, ‘I have to tell you once he’s apprehended, he will be let out early’. This is not justice. How can this be right?”

Currently, serious sex offenders only serve two thirds of their jail sentences. However under a new Sentencing Act offenders could walk free after serving half their time. PM Andy Burnham has paused the early release scheme set to come into force in September.

Prosecutor Katherine Robinson told a trial in March 2024 that Green would tell the victim she was “ugly, or stupid” during the abuse. Ms Robinson added: “He said no one loved her. She suffered and continues to suffer extreme psychological harm. She was isolated.

“There were a minimum of 21 rapes over a four-year period. He told her not to tell anyone.”

Judge Khan KC said: “It appears there wasn’t any other violence but there were threats of violence and the victim was humiliated and told she was ugly, stupid and nobody loved her and that was part of the approach of the defendant’s way of controlling her. I am satisfied the defendant was premeditated in the offending.”

Det Insp Paul Greatorex of West Yorkshire Police said at the time of his sentencing: “Brian Green has been sentenced in his absence to a lengthy jail term, reflecting the very serious non-recent offences he committed against a young and vulnerable child.

“A warrant is out for his arrest for failure to attend at court and we would ask anyone who has seen him or has information about his whereabouts to contact Kirklees police.”

The Ministry of Justice has been approached for comment.
