Champions League footballer taken to hospital after ‘dragged out of automotive by armed gang’

A Champions League footballer who plays in the top league in Belgium was taken to hospital after being attacked by a masked gang.
Union Saint-Gilloise winger Mohammed Fuseini was dragged from his car while in Brussels on Sunday morning (July 26) with footage if the horror incident being shared online.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian international, who missed out on place in the a World Cup, is seen being grabbed by a masked gang, who were reportedly armed, and placed in a headlock.
According to local media outlet, Het Laatste Nieuws (HLN), Fuseini was robbed of a Rolex believed to be worth €14,000 (around £12,000).

Footage also showed the group look to snatch the star’s phone as Fuseini tried to resist their attempts. However he was eventually overpowered by the five-strong gang.
He was eventually released by the thugs as they fled the scene. Footage of the incident has since gone viral online, particularly in his home country of Ghana.
The horror incident was reportedly filmed by an unnamed teammate of Fuseini as the winger was taken to hospital for treatment on his injuries.

His club Union SG released a statement giving an update on Fuseini’s condition following the horror robbery in broad daylight. They said: “The images from last Sunday are particularly harrowing.
“He subsequently went to the hospital for a check-up and received excellent care there from the Brussels police, whom we sincerely thank for their outstanding work.
“The injuries are not serious, and he resumed training yesterday.”
The public prosecutor’s office has also given an update on the incident with three people being a victim of robbery by the group.
In a statement they said several people had allegedly been attacked them and items including watches, phones and other personal belongings have been found.
One suspect, reportedly aged 23, has since been identified and arrested.
