A therapist has been accused of grooming, sexually assaulting and raping an underage child she had been assigned to help. Juvenile hall therapist Sofia Drotts, 26, has been hit with a number of felony charges after she allegedly groomed a 17-year-old boy.

She allegedly groomed the youngster at the Contra Costa County juvenile hall in California, US. State prosecutors said Drotts was assigned to work with the minor, referred to as John Doe, during her time as a behavioural health clinician.

The Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office claims the two of them engaged in a sexual relationship between April and July of this year, after the boy was released from the facility.
