A mysterious triangular UFO has been exposed lurking directly above a favourite Brit holiday hotspot in newly released military files. Top-secret US government documents detail a bizarre mid-air encounter over the eastern Mediterranean, giving holidaymakers a chilling reason to look up from their sunbeds.
The spooky encounter came to light following a massive declassification dump ordered by President Donald Trump. Among the trove of newly exposed papers is an official military report detailing an encounter between an American plane and a mysterious aircraft while flying back to base between Greece and Turkey.
Military observers officially logged the strange shape in the sky as a “triangular and metallic” object.

According to the report, the unknown craft was spotted cruising at 24,989 feet (around 7,600 metres) while travelling at 168 knots (roughly 193mph).
While it might not be pulling off Star Wars-style hyperspace jumps, the strange vessel proved unusual enough to spark a top-level military probe. However, spooks are still keeping some details under wraps.
The exact date of the sighting remains heavily redacted in the public papers, while several chunks of the document are stamped with the code “1.4(a)” – a government mark used to hide sensitive data, including the identities of the pilot involved.
The report was previously slapped with a “secret/NOFORN” classification, meaning it was strictly forbidden from being shared with foreign intelligence agencies or allies.
Speaking previously about the release of the files, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said: “The Department of War is moving at the same pace as President Trump to provide unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of unidentified anomalous phenomena.”

He added: “These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fuelled justified speculation, and it’s time the American people saw them for themselves.”
The file release is part of a massive, ongoing government drop that has seen tens of millions of records spanning back as far as World War II being reviewed for public release.
Published through a dedicated official portal, new batches of military documents, raw video clips and pilot witness accounts are being unleashed in rolling tranches every few weeks.
