Jamal Musiala collapses throughout Bayern Munich match in scary scenes as membership chief points replace
Bayern Munich and Germany star Jamal Musiala collapsed during the closing stages of the German giants’ pre-season friendly against RB Leipzig, with teammates rushing to catch him before he hit the ground

Bayern Munich and Germany star Jamal Musiala worryingly collapsed during Bayern Munich’s pre-season fixture in the sweltering heat.
The 23-year-old had to be caught and laid down by teammate Ismael Saibari as he seemed to lose consciousness and collapse during the club’s game against RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga champion continued ramping up preparations for the upcoming campaign in roasting 33-degree conditions.
Thankfully, it was the heat that proved overwhelming for Musiala in the closing moments after entering as a second-half replacement. The creative midfielder likely suffered heatstroke and was quickly tended to by his team-mates and medics.

The episode occurred just after he had virtually wrapped up victory for Bayern. Mere minutes following the strike, the attacker began looking confused. Saibari spotted this and hurried to help his new team-mate.
Both Saibari and Joshua Kimmich managed to support Musiala before he collapsed, gently helping him to the turf. Medical staff arrived instantly to offer urgent care while teammates surrounded him.
Encouragingly, a thumbs up signal was directed towards the dugout from a medic and Kimmich. Musiala was subsequently able to stand and depart the field accompanied by Bayern’s medical personnel as Bara Sapoko Ndiaye took his place.
It proved a dramatic introduction to Bayern Munich for Saibari, who made his bow for the side following his summer switch from PSV Eindhoven. The midfielder linked up with Bayern after featuring for Morocco in this summer’s World Cup in North America.

Bayern emerged as 3-1 victors, courtesy of strikes from Luis Diaz, Nathaniel Brown and Musiala, with the latter’s effort set up by Saibari.
Speaking in the mixed zone after the triumph, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl offered an update on Musiala, stating: “The most important thing, he’s doing well!”
Bayern also endured two additional injury concerns during the match with full-back Konrad Laimer withdrawn after only 10 minutes. Centre-back Min-jae Kim was subsequently substituted during the second-half drinks break.
Providing an update on Laimer, Eberl revealed: “Konny took a hit relatively early on, and his foot swelled up pretty quickly as well.
“That’s why he was taken off as a precaution. It was already the case that he couldn’t run anymore; he had to be supported. That was visible. He wasn’t running smoothly at all. How long it will take, I really can’t say today.”
Bayern Munich return to action next Saturday when they face Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup final. Their campaign opener in the Bundesliga arrives on Friday, 28 August versus VfB Stuttgart.
