Liverpool agree £30m switch for midfield star with ‘medical deliberate’
Liverpool have agreed a £30million transfer for a midfield star – with a medical now planned ahead of the deal
Liverpool have agreed a £30million deal for a midfield star, with a “medical planned”.
The Reds have given the green light for Curtis Jones to swap Anfield for San Siro, with Inter Milan seeing their offer accepted. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano posted on X: “Inter agree deal to sign Curtis Jones from Liverpool, here we go!
“Verbal agreement in place at €35m package fee from #LFC, agreement also with the player and medical being planned next.” Inter have been chasing his signature all summer, and have reportedly already seen two bids rejected.

Jones has been absent from the last three pre-season matches, against Leeds, Monaco and Como. Asked why, after the 3-2 defeat by Monaco on August 9, manager Andoni Iraola put it down to a minor hip complaint.
“Curtis, he has trained every day but yesterday finished with issues in the hip,” Iraola said. “It doesn’t look anything big but it didn’t make any sense to risk and those are the ones, more or less, closer to a return.”
But having sat out of the 2-0 win over Como on Sunday – which came after Jones returned to training on Wednesday – reports in Italy have shed light on the situation. Sport Mediaset say the medical explanation is a ‘white lie’.
Instead, he is missing games in an effort to force through the transfer and avoid an injury which could jeopardise talks.
Jones has less than a year remaining on his contract and found himself out of the starting side last season.
Inter Milan have already had a busy summer, snapping up John Stones on a free transfer after his Manchester City contract expired in June. They’ve also added Djed Spence, Manuel Akanji, Aleksandar Stankovic and Ivan Provedel to their ranks.
