A bomb has been reported on the MV Caledonian Isles in Ardrossan in Scotland.
A ferry in Scotland has been evacuated and crossings cancelled after threats of ‘a bomb on board.’
The bomb threat was reported on a CalMac ferry after a passenger overboard was rescued. All sailings from Ardrossan Harbour are cancelled as police search the boat.
A person was reported as being overboardduring the journey of the 4.40pm MV Caledonian Isles from Brodick to Ardrossan at around 5.30pm on Friday, August 21.
They were successfully rescued after CalMac crew launched their Fast Rescue Craft and alerted the HM Coastguard.
Following the successful rescue, a threat was then received that a bomb was on board the vessel. The crew immediately launched emergency protocols, calling cops in to search the boat.
Passengers were evacuated on foot as soon as the ferry arrived at Ardrossen harbour, which is around 30 miles from Glasgow. A thorough search of the boat is underway.
Evacuated passengers and those waiting for a later crossing have been gathered in the nearby Asda car park as police carry out searches.
