The summer heatwave might be easing off, but that doesn’t mean Brits are ready to give up their garden gatherings just yet. As evenings become cooler, shoppers are turning to a gadget that’s designed to keep outdoor spaces warm without the need to head indoors.
The Harrier 2000w Rounded Standing Outdoor Patio Heater is available for £48.99 on Amazon and has been dubbed a ‘great little garden heater’ by shoppers. It costs around 50p an hour to run, depending on the electricity tariff and heat setting, making it an appealing option for anyone hoping to keep garden parties going into the evening.
The versatile heater can be used either freestanding or wall-mounted and has an IPX4 rating, meaning it is designed for outdoor use and offers protection against water splashes. There are three heat settings to choose from: low, medium and high, so users can adjust the warmth depending on the temperature outside.

Its height can also be adjusted, and the head tilts between 0 and 45 degrees, allowing the direction of the heat to be changed depending on where people are sitting. The heater comes with a 1.8m power cable and requires some assembly.

One shopper said as part of a longer review: “I have to say, I am presently surprised at the quality of this heater, it is extremely well made and very sturdy, using high quality materials from what I can see. It took longer to remove it from the box than it did to put it together, despite the teeny tiny writing on the instructions. I couldn’t read them, so I just looked at the photo and worked it out. The price for the heating is very reasonable and well within our budget.”
Another said: “Great little garden heater for the price. Gives off lots of heat. We have also used it in the garage. The included stand was very easily assembled, making the heater stable, and it also comes with wall mountings.”
A third person said: “Love these heaters. They’re easy to assemble, even though the instructions make the process sound more complicated than it actually is. They’re cost‑effective, compact, light, and have an adjustable height and lamp. The three heat levels are strong and effective.”

This third person also left some feedback, adding: “The only downside is the extremely short cord, which means you’ll need to use an extension. What I discovered, having used an extension, that not all extensions work with these heaters. They need super-strong caravan-grade cables. The other ones just trip if you put the heater to a full level three.”
Another shopper commented: “Really easy to put together. Looks smart, and the heat output is really good. Three settings so you adjust how much heat you want. The only issue is the cord length. It’s only slightly longer than the height of the heater, so you will need to place it next to a socket or get an extension. Would have given five stars if the cord was longer.
