Man dies after ‘stabbing assault’ in UK seaside city as police launch assertion
A 21-year-old has been arrested after a man died in hospital following an alleged knife attack in Ramsgate, Kent, in the early hours of Sunday. Police have asked witnesses to come forward
Police have arrested a 21-year-old after a man died following a stabbing at a popular UK seaside spot.
Kent Police said they were called to reports of a man with a knife in Ramsgate in the early hours of Sunday morning. Two men, 48 and 52, were rushed to a local hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds.
The 52-year-old man has tragically died since, while the second victim has been released from hospital. Police arrested a 21-year-old man who has been taken into custody. Kent Police said in a statement: “A 21-year-old local British man was arrested shortly after the incident and was taken into custody where he remains. Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist has lost his life after a crash with a car on the Isle of Lewis.
Officers were called to a collision between a silver MG and a black BMW S1000 RS motorbike on the A857 Ness to Stornoway road close to New Park, Newmarket, at approximately 4.40pm on Saturday.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and the 56-year-old male rider was rushed to Western Isles Hospital, where he passed away. His relatives have been informed, and no other casualties were reported. The route was shut to enable investigations to take place and reopened at around 5am on Sunday.
The 44-year-old male motorist has been detained in connection with the incident and officers confirmed enquiries continue. Police are now seeking witnesses following the tragic collision.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died as a result of this crash,” Police Sergeant Scott MacDonald said.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or the vehicles prior to contact us. I would also ask anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam footage that could assist to get in touch.”
