Man, 20, died in 120mph Lamborghini fireball crash on method to decide up pal from jail
A court heard how 20-year-old Mohammed Shaan Hussain was killed in a 120mph+ “fireball” crash on the rain-soaked M62 after hiring a Lamborghini Urus, swapping seats with Humaira Batool

A 20-year-old man died in a 120 mph fireball crash after hiring a high-powered Lamborghini to pick up a friend from jail, a court heard.
Mohammed Shaan Hussain rented the high-powered Urus before picking up Humaira Batool, then 22, from her Bradford home at around 4am. The pair swapped seats before the Lamborghini tore along the rain-soaked M62 at speeds of up to 143mph.
Seconds after it passed Scott Hall Farm – known as “house in the middle of the motorway” – the supercar smashed into a barrier, overturned and burst into flames. Batool escaped the wreckage but Mr Hussain was trapped inside as motorists desperately tried to rescue him.

She is now standing trial at Leeds Crown Court accused of causing his death by dangerous driving. Prosecutor Christopher Dunn said Mr Hussain had hired the luxury SUV and planned to use it to collect a friend from HMP Leeds.
CCTV showed Batool initially sitting in the passenger seat before the pair swapped places at a set of traffic lights. Mr Hussain moved into the passenger seat while Batool took the wheel, Mr Dunn said.
The court heard the Lamborghini was then driven “at grossly excessive speeds” of up to 143mph despite the wet conditions. It was travelling at around 120mph as it passed Stott Hall Farm.
Denial
Seconds later, while travelling between junctions 22 and 23 near Ripponden, West Yorks., it left the carriageway, smashed into a barrier and overturned. Drivers who had just been overtaken by the stricken supercar stopped and desperately tried to save Mr Hussain.
But Mr Dunn said their rescue efforts were thwarted by a fire and an explosion. Batool was later found on a grass verge near the motorway by a second group of witnesses.
Mr Dunn said: “Batool told witnesses the flames had melted the seatbelt, enabling her to escape the vehicle.” Batool denies causing death by dangerous driving.

The trial continues. This comes after at least 16 people have been killed and 28 more injured after a bus crash in a tourist area of Egypt, the Daily Star previously reported.
The horror crash happened on the Dahab-Nuweibaa road in the south Sinai area of Egypt, authorities confirmed. The southern Sinai peninsula is popular for tourism, including diving and snorkelling in the Red Sea. Dahab is around 50 miles north of Sharm el-Sheikh.
The coach is believed to have overturned during the deadly smash, reports suggest.
