Liam Gallagher left Noel stunned after going AWOL before a huge Oasis comeback gig, a new documentary has revealed. The brothers were barely on speaking terms when their 2025 reunion tour kicked off and Liam sparked chaos by failing to turn up for their final rehearsals.
While the pair are now closer than ever after the music brought them back together, explosive footage shows how Liam vanished hours before their massive show in Cardiff, rolling up just minutes before showtime.
Speaking in the new film Don’t Look Back In Anger, Noel said: “We’ve got a chance here to change the narrative of the band. We have got a chance to fix all the s*** that we have just let drift apart. The final run-through, the night before the thing. Didn’t see him. Ohh.

“The next thing is one of the biggest f***ing moments of our lives, right? And he’s not rehearsed. I am like, ‘Oh yeah?’ He turns up 20 minutes before the gig: ‘Alright, what’s the catering like?'”
Thankfully, the legendary frontman didn’t let the Welsh crowd down, grabbing Noel’s hand in an iconic moment as they hit the stage.
Noel added: “I am like, ‘How the f*** is this…what the f***?’ And then he grabs my hand and I am like, ‘What the f***?’ And off he goes, sounding like he was 30 years younger. Just rocked up and did it. And I am like, ‘You absolute mad c***.'”
Tensions rose backstage but Noel and Liam worked things out
The documentary shows the band rehearsing for the tour and reveals just how strained things were at the start. Directors used remote cameras so they wouldn’t intrude on the tense atmosphere.
Footage shows the band starting rehearsals without Liam. When he finally strolls in, he simply asks, “Are we ready then?” before launching into Hello.
During a run-through of Champagne Supernova, Liam walks out while the band is still playing, leaving without saying goodbye.

Guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs jokes to Noel: “See ya! He’s not in tomorrow, he’s saying. He’s gonna do Monday/Tuesday.” Noel said: “Great. F***ing great. Long weekend. I’m f***ed anyway.”
The scene highlights Bonehead’s crucial role as peacemaker, using humour to help mend the brothers’ shattered relationship.
Noel said: “I’m not sure if our kid is enjoying himself. I can’t work it out in my head. He just comes in and f***s off. I have got a newfound respect for it. I respect it.”

Liam said he was fully aware people were waiting for him to “be a d***head,” but added he stayed professional and quit smoking on tour to protect his voice.
As the tour progressed, onstage tension melted into laughs and jokes, while the brothers’ children bonded backstage for the first time.
In their first joint interview in two decades, the brothers confirmed the tour changed their bond forever.

Noel said: “All the little things that used to annoy us about each other have suddenly all gone away. It’s not a power struggle anymore, we’ve come out now as equals.”
Liam added: “It feels like a weight has been lifted. We all said s*** that didn’t matter. I didn’t realise it was coming out of my mouth, half the s***. That’s the way it is.”
The reconciliation has lasted off-stage too, with the pair spotted together at the Venice Film Festival and cheering on Manchester City.
Noel said: “We never used to text each other much, but now we text each other stupid videos like two mates would. We’re in contact way, way, way more often than we ever were.
“It was all forgiven without saying a word. I use this word to describe what he has been like – a word I never thought I would use to describe him – which is delightful.”
Thousands of fans are expected to flock to cinemas this week to catch the film, before scrambling for tickets for a 2027 tour set to be officially announced in the coming days.
