Two people have been killed and four others injured after a car ploughed into a group of pedestrians before getting into a horror pile-up crash.
999 crews rushed to White Rose Way in Doncaster after the tragic collision on Sunday. Police have said a black Mitsubishi L200 was travelling along the carriageway before crashing into a group of four people.
South Yorkshire Police said the Mitsubishi then got into a crash with a black Audi and a silver BMW travelling on the opposite side of the carriageway. Authorities have confirmed two pedestrians were killed in the collision which saw the vehicle collide with two other cars.
Police are working to identify the victims and inform their next of kin. The driver of the Mitsubishi, 30-year-old, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit.
The man has been bailed pending further enquiries. The force has now launched an investigation. A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for any witnesses, and anyone who may have dashcam footage, following a fatal road traffic collision in Doncaster over the weekend.
