Sprint star Amy Hunt says her attack on Sydney Sweeney’s naked betting ad is “nothing personal” against the actress.
The British 200m ace sparked a huge reaction after hitting out at the Euphoria star’s controversial campaign for US firm Novig.
Sydney, 29, posed naked with strategically-placed footballs and other sporting equipment in the ad, which critics accused of “sexualising women’s sport”. But Amy, 24, said the row had now turned into something positive by prompting an outpouring of support for female athletes.
She told Good Morning Britain: “It’s not anything personal against that actress. “It’s more the kind of intention, and it’s just moved into a completely different spin now, where we’re able to have all these different things celebrating women’s sport.”

Amy said she wanted young girls to learn that sport was about “what your body can do, not so much what it looks like”. And she insisted the reality of being an elite athlete was often far from glamorous. She added: “Sport, it’s not pretty.
“That doesn’t always look attractive and that doesn’t always look nice.
“Sometimes it looks like throwing up in the corner of the track, or I’ve had sessions this year where I’ve been crying afterwards.”
Amy first took aim at Sydney after finishing fourth in the 200m final at the Ultimate Championship in Budapest on Sunday.

In a post-race BBC interview, she declared: “Sydney Sweeney, this is what women in sport look like.”
Four-time Olympic swimming champ Ariarne Titmus also blasted the advert as a “kick in the face” to women who had dedicated their lives to sport and urged Sydney to “do better”.
Sydney appeared to hit back at her critics by sharing snaps of sports stars who have previously posed nude, including Serena Williams, Ronda Rousey and Megan Rapinoe.
And This Morning host Cat Deeley waded into the row yesterday, branding the campaign “old-fashioned and not very clever”.
