‘Mikel Arteta has inherited Sir Alex Ferguson’s bully-boy crown – refs should ignore him’
BRENT A GOB: This week, Harry Brent’s tearing into Mikel Arteta for his comments following Arsenal’s win over Sunderland, and having a pop at Manchester City fans for their new chant
Mikel Arteta puts the arse in Arsenal.
I’m so sick of his slimy, bully-boy tactics, ripped so blatantly from the Sir Alex Ferguson playbook they’ve still got bits of stale Wrigley’s chewing gum stuck to the pages.
That Lego-haired pillock not only threw a hissy fit about Sunderland being awarded a stonewall penalty on Saturday, but launched a ludicrous post-match rant where he declared the decision “unacceptable” and “sad for football”. That is delusion on a ‘Spurs thinking Savio is worth 85 million quid’ scale. But he did once try to blame a 0-0 draw at Burnley on the length of the bloody grass.

Ezri Konsa had his arms clamped around Dan Ballard like he was about to yank him out of the path of a speeding bus. If you don’t think that’s a foul, you’ve got Robert Sanchez levels of terrible judgement.
Arteta whined that Konsa got “judo-rolled” – but you can’t get rolled unless you’re already grappling your opponent. Defend legally and you don’t end up on your arse. It ain’t rocket science.
Just because Arsenal are as naturally gifted at wrestling blokes to the deck as they are at choking in Champions League finals doesn’t mean we should just sit back and let them normalise it.
Nor should we swallow Arteta’s obvious attempts to intimidate the officials. The man has as much class as he had highlights in his playing career.
Fer crying out loud
Manchester City fans have a new chant for Enzo Fernandez and it’s about as irritating as Martin Keown.
To the tune of The Cranberries’ iconic Zombie, they sing: “He’s in your head, in your head, Enzo, Enzo, Enzo.” That’s it. That’s the whole song. Like City’s midweek attendance figures, it’s absolutely atrocious.
It doesn’t rhyme. It doesn’t even remotely overlap. In fact, “Zombie” and “Enzo” go together about as well as Tottenham and the concept of scoring goals.
How long did they spend coming up with it – five seconds? Because if it took them any longer they clearly have the creative capacity of Brooklyn Beckham.
And why is Enzo in our heads? He’s only been at City five minutes and has as many memorable Premier League moments as he has top-four finishes on his CV.
The only thing currently occupying my head is a thumping migraine brought on by the staggering laziness of the Etihad’s atmosphere department.
Like Robbie Savage when he’s doing commentary – it’s just half-baked garbage, devoid of a single original or interesting thought and an insult to anyone with functioning ears.
