‘Bird Lady’ Hannah Bourne-Taylor then drove on a 350-mile trip to see gannets – and boat was cancelled

Fans rushed to support a Clarkson’s Farm star after she related a shocking health scare which saw her at ‘3am in A&E ******* blood’. ‘Bird Lady’ Hannah Bourne-Taylor took to Instagram to describe her ‘bad day’ when she had been hoping to make a trip to Scotland for a key avian event.

Hannah is a campaigner, naturalist and writer who has spent years fighting for change to help Britain’s bird population. She joined Jeremy Clarkson on Diddly Squat Farm to help catalogue and identify the farm’s bird species by ear and sight, leaving Clarkson and viewers impressed by her ability to recognize bird calls faster than technology.

In a new post she said she was suffering from kidney stones which left her in agony – and hospital: “Sometimes life throws you quite bad days. My day started at 3am in A and E, p****** blood which wasn’t ideal but I was hell bent on driving all the way up to Scotland to catch the very last boat of the season to see the single biggest colony of Gannets in the world.

”I was prepared to sleep in my car and breeze through the pain of kidney stones. The best thing about the day ended up being the feckless clouds. Unfortunately this video explains what happened. Anyone else had that kind of day?”

And when she got there the ferry was cancelled: “Oh dear I’ve just driven 250 miles out of 350 miles only to get an email when I came here for a service break to say that the boat’s been cancelled. While driving in agony with kidney stones to see gannets I don’t get the gannet part. I’ve now got the prospect of driving 250 miles home when I didn’t have to leave in the first place. Fun times. And I’ve still got kidney stones no gannets.”

Fans supported the 40-year-old with one saying: “There will be another day. Don’t worry. Got mates nearby who can look after you :)” Another added: “Oh no, so sorry to hear that. I think the boat has been cancelled a few times recently. Hope you are better soon and that you get the chance to see them next year.”

Liz said: “Big hug beautiful Hannah. Your energy, enthusiasm and determination will get you through this day. Gannets are wishing you well and waiting to meet you another day xx” Susua added: “Oh, really sorry, Hannah. Hope you get the kidney stone thing sorted ok. Hope you get to see the Gannets in the future. “

Hannah later replied: “Thanks for the love.”
