A horror four-vehicle crash in Romania has claimed the lives of two British women and eight dogs, with police now having launched a manslaughter investigation into the crash

Two British women have died alongside eight dogs after a horrifying four-vehicle pile-up in Romania.
The fatal smash involved two trucks, a van and a minibus which was carrying the victims, who were aged 61 and 41. Authorities confirmed they have launched an investigation into the crash, which happened on the DN 6 road in Caraș-Severin – located in west Romania by the Serbian border.
Local police said: “From the first checks carried out on site, the accident involved two truck- trains and a minibus. Unfortunately, following the impact, two women in the minibus died.” The minibus, which was reportedly UK-registered, was carrying the two Brits who also had 10 dogs on board. Eight of the dogs tragically died.

Horrifying pictures of the aftermath have been shared online, with 999 crews having to climb over the crushed wreckage. Initial reports suggest the minibus had veered onto the wrong side of the road before crashing into another vehicle.
The victims were pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. Other drivers were also treated for their injuries at the scene, not taken to hospital.
A manslaughter investigation has been launched to determine the full circumstances of the incident.

Meanwhile, a teenager is fighting for her life in hospital after suffering head injuries in a horror crash on a major A-road on Monday.
The teen driver was travelling northbound in a blue VW Polo, joining the motorway when she collided with a HGV car transporter. West Yorkshire Police said the crash unfolded at 2.20pm at the junction for the B6474, between Wentbridge and Darrington.
Police are now appealing to locate the driver of a black van, possibly a Ford Transit, which was seen entering the northbound A1 from the B6474 a few moments before the collision. West Yorkshire Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the A1 earlier today in which the driver of a car suffered life-threatening injuries.
“The collision happened on the northbound A1, at the junction for the B6474, between Wentbridge and Darrington, shortly before 2.20pm today (21/9).
“A blue VW Polo travelling northbound was joining the A1 when it was in collision with a Scania HGV car transporter which was travelling northbound on the A1.
“The driver of the Polo, a woman aged in her teens, suffered life-threatening head injuries and was taken to hospital.”
