Phil Taylor comes out of retirement as darts icon to compete once more aged 66
Phil ‘the Power’ Taylor is to come out of retirement aged 66, with the darts icon set to return to the oche alongside his long-time rival Adrian Lewis

Darts legend Phil Taylor is set to come out of retirement and return to the oche.
The Power, 66, is the sport’s most successful star with sixteen world titles. However, he walked away from the sport in 2018, after losing out in the final of the PDC World Championship to Rob Cross – moving into the senior circuit.
And Taylor ended his run in the World Seniors two years ago due to an ongoing hip injury. However, the Power is now back, reuniting with longtime rival Adrian Lewis. According to SPORTbible, he will take part in the MODUS Super Series International Pairs Tournament alongside Lewis, which runs from November 23-28.
Lewis and Taylor previously formed a formidable partnership at the World Cup of Darts – winning the tournament four times on the spin between 2012 and 2016.
And ten years after their last partnership, the pair will now team-up in MODUS, with fans being able to watch them back in action of Pluto TV.
Speaking to previously to SPORTbible, Taylor admitted is the only player he’d have come out of retirement for to compete with: “It’s just the offer and something to do, plus playing with Aidy as well. Anyone else, I probably wouldn’t have been bothered.
“But playing with Aidy, it’ll be good fun. I didn’t even have a set of darts before I’d done this, but I’m enjoying it. I’ve been practicing a little bit. Normally, I’ll be practicing every day.”
Taylor also admitted the same thing, stating he “wasn’t really interested” in competing if it wasn’t for Taylor.
