The Duchess of Sussex has unveiled a lavish £112 advent calendar, drawing inspiration from the Montecito estate she no longer lives in. Meghan’s latest As Ever offering showcases an artistic rendering of her former California residence, arriving just over a month since the duchess returned to British soil.

Inside the packaging bears the phrase “A magical celebration of the season”, explaining that the 24 artisan chocolates are designed to “sweeten each day” and have been “thoughtfully inspired by our Montecito garden”. Meghan and the Duke of Sussex executed a surprising reversal and shifted back to the UK at the close of August, six years following their departure from royal duties for a fresh start across the Atlantic.

The exclusive item, developed alongside Los Angeles confectioner Compartes, appeared on As Ever’s website for advance orders on Thursday.

The seasonal treat cannot be purchased for UK delivery, with Meghan’s brand encompassing flower garnishes, preserves and wine presently distributing solely within America.

Tagged at 148 dollars (£112), the website described how the calendar’s “flavours draw from California’s fresh bounty” and showcase As Ever’s distinctive strawberry, raspberry, blackberry and orange marmalade varieties, a specialty chocolate topped with Meghan’s flower garnishes, and a Compartes luxurious dark chocolate ganache truffle.

It states: “Each piece is finished with its countdown number in Meghan’s personal penmanship, hand-painted in edible gold luster”. The description adds: “This limited-edition advent calendar reveals 24 handcrafted chocolates in a keepsake design inspired by Meghan’s Montecito home and garden.”

The duchess was photographed on As Ever’s Instagram beaming as she opened one of the calendar’s numbered compartments while perched on a window seat in a tastefully neutral room.

Meghan had previously shared clips on her social media showing herself behind the wheel of a golf cart, with Compartes’ chief executive Jonathan Grahm seated beside her.

The post was captioned ” Christmas planning in June” and Meghan grinned and said “Hang on” as they travelled down a pathway, with Mr Grahm saying “Stay tuned”.

The footage also revealed colourful drawings of the property, and the Sussexes’ labrador Pula clutching a plush toy shaped like an As Ever jar of strawberry jam.
