‘Final rapture’ to destroy humanity subsequent week after God ‘instructed’ pastor about apocalypse
A pastor known for his outlandish claims about the end of the world has once again predicted the rapture is heading its way to Earth soon
A controversial preacher known for his outlandish claims about the end of the world has once again predicted we are heading for an apocalypse.
South African pastor Joshua Mhlakela has made his name using social media to spread the message that the end of humanity is nigh, claiming that he has chatted with Jesus and been given exclusive info on when the apocalypse might be.
Mhlakela, who was previously convinced the rapture coming in September 2025, has now given a new date for when the world will end. According to him, we only have a matter of days left on the planet, and things are going to go south just after the upcoming weekend on either the 12th or 13th of October.
Hopefully, you haven’t got too many plans for those dates, because if the pastor is correct you will likely have to cancel them in favour of experiencing the end of life on earth.
Mhlakela, who boasts tens of thousands of subscribers across multiple social media platforms, told his followers that despite his recent mistakes, this prediction would be his last.
He told his followers: “God told me because there’s no other date coming out, 12 to 13 October, which is the true feast of trumpets, which is when I will be meeting my saviour face to face in the rapture”, adding in a separate issue that “there’s no other rapture date. This is the final date for me”.
Mhlakela says he uses a complex system involving the position of the sun and the moon as well as biblical verse to work out with total precision when God will unleash the rapture that some believe is promised in the Bible.
Despite his complex system seemingly leaving him with egg on his face after being wrong last year, Mhlakela says he has subsequently realised the mistake was all part of the plan, and that God was using him as a warning for Christians to get ready before unleashing the real thing this year.
But this time, he says, there will be no mistake. According to his calculations, the rapture is set to come during the Jewish festival of Rosh Hashanah or ‘The Feast of Trumpets’, which took place in September, although Mhlakela reckons this is a mistake too.
He told his followers: “Many are saying Feast of Trumpets is September. When you Google it is September 11. This is not Feast of Trumpets. The true Feast of Trumpets is actually in October”.
There does not seem to be any validity to this claim, nor that the world is set to end next Monday, so you’re probably safe to not cancel your plans after all.
