A Man United fan said he felt he’d won ‘the treble’ after winning a £3.5 million mansion and £250,000 cash in the same week as City’s guilty verdict came through. Jamie Loveridge, 37, from Worcestershire is now the proud owner of a five-bedroom Victorian home in London with its own treehouse, garden wellness studio and even a zip line after winning an Omaze lottery.

Opening up about his extraordinary week, the lucky devil said: “I thought City being found guilty was the best news I’d get all week – but then I won a £3.5 million house with £250,000 cash, what a result – and I won it fair and square!

“City found guilty, a £3.5 million house and the cash – that’s the best treble since ’99! I’ve been a football fan my entire life – but I never dreamed I’d own a house fit for a footballer!”

Despite his family’s new luxury pad, Jamie’s youngest son, who unlike his Dad is a staunch Man City fan, has apparently had a “tough week”, although Jamie reckons the “multi-million pound house with its very own zip line should help cheer him up!”

Sadly, the win came shortly after the loss of Jamie’s gran. He says she was on his mind the night before his huge result.

Jamie said: “We lost my nan the night before we found out we’d won the house – so that was all we were thinking about. We never imagined the next day we’d win a multi-million pound house. It feels like she’s had something to do with this, like she’s done this from above.”

When asked how it felt to win, Jamie described being “absolutely gobsmacked”. He explained: “We just couldn’t believe it, you just never expect something like this to actually happen – it was all a blur but I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment.”

“We were all so stunned we didn’t know how to celebrate, so we just ordered pizzas. The boys smashed theirs, but we were still too shocked to eat ours – and we’d already had a big slice of good fortune anyway!

We didn’t get a wink of sleep over the weekend. I woke up at three in the morning and had to ask my wife, ‘Did that really happen?’”

Jamie and Katie have been together for 14 years and celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary at the end of October. Katie said: “It’s our sixth wedding anniversary at the end of this month. I was expecting a present, but nothing like this!”

Both have lived in Worcestershire all their lives and have been in their current home for five years.

Katie has worked in a local family café for 18 years. Jamie has worked in gyms since he was 16 and spent many years as a personal trainer.

The couple dedicate their weekends and spare money to supporting their sons’ dreams of playing football. Leo plays for Birmingham City and Harry plays for Cheltenham Town.

On what the win means for his family, Jamie said: “All I’ve ever wanted is to give Katie and the boys the best life possible. This win means I can do that in ways I never dreamed of now!

“All the pressures of day-to-day life disappeared. It’s an amazing feeling. The boys are only young – this has changed their future. It gives us options and security we never imagined.”
