There’s no better way to liven up the dreary days of autumn than by booking a mini-break – and this November, a host of celebs are set to join guests for a series of music celebrations at holiday parks across the UK. Parkdean Resorts has announced eight Celebrity Weekenders, themed on the tunes of decades gone by and promising a jam-packed schedule of entertainment.

Three of these star-studded weekends will be at Vauxhall Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth, which has recently had a multi-million pound makeover offering a whole host of new activities. It’s here that the Boybands Vs Girlbands weekend will take place on November 6, with a number of famous faces representing their bands.

Nineties and noughties icons East 17 and Liberty X will be joined by Atomic Kitten’s Kerry Katona and Natasha Hamilton alongside JLS star Oritsé Williams at Boybands Vs Girlbands, plus S Club’s Bradley, Damage, Honeyz, and a line-up of tribute acts. Prices start from £164 for three nights at this energetic weekend – and it’s not the only event for music lovers at Vauxhall Holiday Park.

Nineties vs noughties and tribute act weekends

Coming up on November 13 is the Celebrity Tribute weekend, which will welcome tributes to a who’s who of the music world from legends like Elvis, Elton John, Cher, Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson to 21st century icons such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga and Take That. Holidaymakers can book this weekend from £178 for three nights at Vauxhall Holiday Park.

There are eight weekends to choose from across five Parkdean Resorts holiday parks.

Escape rooms, rope course, and mini golf

Around a half-hour drive or 45-minute bus or train from the city of Norwich, visitors to Vauxhall Holiday Park can take on everything from a low ropes course to Bear Grylls-themed escape rooms, or enjoy the likes of interactive darts, shuffleboard, pool or mini golf in the new Hat Tricks Sports Bar in between catching all the hits at these themed mini-breaks. Each Celebrity Weekender also offer plenty of activities to keep the celebrations going, from silent discos and bottomless brunches to bingo and fancy dress competitions, with the line-up varying by holiday park.

However, Parkdean Resorts notes that while children are welcome to join a Celebrity Weekender, there will be limited entertainment and activities running for children, so these breaks are best suited to grown-ups. Those seeking a family-friendly staycation this autumn can check out Parkdean’s other breaks, as well as the likes of Haven, who has the Seashore Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth with Halloween-themed breaks this October half term, and Butlin’s, whose nearest resort is in Skegness and has The Masked Singer Live shows on during the upcoming school break.

And from November 27, the Celebrity Christmas weekend will see the likes of East 17, The Cheeky Girls, Marvin Humes and Kerry Katona in attendance to kick off the countdown to the festive period with DJ sets and dance floor hits.

Over at Trecco Bay Holiday Park in Porthcawl, the Disco For Grown-Ups weekend from November 13 has Steps legends Claire Richards and Ian ‘H’ Watkins joined by Gareth Gates and Bucks Fizz stars Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston for non-stop hits. While elsewhere in Wales at Ty Mawr Holiday Park, Vernon Kay will head up the 90s Weekender from November 20, celebrating all the best hits of the decade.

Also on the weekend of November 20 is the 80s Weekender over at Cayton Bay Holiday Park in North Yorkshire. The Real Thing, Black Lace, Thereza Bazar’s Dollar and Deniece Pearson Five Star are among the celebrity guests in attendance at this weekend, celebrating all things eighties.

‘Entertainment was excellent, food was superb’

Meanwhile, Vauxhall Holiday Park has earned rave reviews from visitors in recent months since its refurbishment. One person said following a stay in September: “Obviously, money has been spent to bring the park up to date. It was really clean. The staff were all very smiley and friendly. Food in restaurant was good. Drinks were reasonably priced. We enjoyed the entertainment. Would we go again? Absolutely!”

Another praised: “We’ve just returned from a fantastic stay at Parkdean Vauxhall, and we couldn’t fault it! There was a big group of us, with children ranging from two to 11 years old, and every single one of them had a brilliant time. There was so much to do and plenty to keep all the kids entertained.”

And a third guest echoed: “100% would come again as a family of six – me and my partner and four kids aged 3 to 15. It was a great holiday for the week so much to do for all kids all ages. Night time entertainment was excellent. Food was superb. We go Parkdean every year never disappoints us. Caravan was good. We well definitely start looking to book for October half term here. Brilliant.”

Although one reviewer felt that the facilities still had room for improvement, feeding back: “A downside was the pool. With the amount of people here it could do with being twice the size.”

While another visitor wrote: “Fun weekend – loved the new activities. Archery with Robin was one of the highlights of the whole weekend. Lots of fun even for us as a party of adults.”
