With the dreary autumn weather offering up the perfect excuse to stay in, a good home entertainment setup for the months ahead is essential. And shoppers on the hunt for a new TV can bag a rare discount on a Samsung model that “looks amazing” in the home thanks to an unique feature.

The Samsung 32 Inch The Frame Smart QLED TV is equipped with an Art Mode that means it displays artwork instead of a black screen when on standby. Priced at £349 and available for collection or home delivery from Argos, shoppers can currently claim £25 cashback when they buy this TV via Samsung, effectively bringing it down to £324.

As a TV that “transforms any room into an art gallery”, according to Samsung, The Frame is designed with a matte display to prevent glare and make its standby display look just like a picture frame with “naturally bright and vivid” artwork. A downside is that users will need to subscribe to the Samsung Art Store to access the 5,000 pieces in The Frame Artwork Library, which costs £3.99 per month, although there is the option to upload your own personal photos and artwork to the TV for free via the SmartThings app.

Easy access to favourite streaming services

The Frame also has all the features you would expect from a Smart TV, including instant access to the likes of Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and other streaming services (subscription required), as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and voice controls. Whether snuggling up with a film, bingeing favourite series or catching all the Christmas programming this winter, the 32-inch model is ideal for households who may be short on space or are looking for a second TV for the bedroom or home office that doubles up as artwork.

Also available with the cashback offer via the Samsung website as well as at Very, it’s worth noting that this 32-inch model is from 2023, so its features may not be as up-to-date as the more recent releases. However, it is a considerably more budget-friendly option compared to newer and bigger versions of the TV.

This TV is designed to look like a picture frame and can be used to display artwork or photos when in standby mode.

‘Everyone who’s seen it wants one’

For those who would prefer a larger model, the 43-inch 2026 version of The Frame currently has £50 off both at Currys and on the Samsung website, bringing its price down to £849. Samsung also stocks 55-inch ad 65-inch 2026 versions of the TV which both have £100 off, now priced at £1,199 and £1,399 respectively, with cashback offers also available on all three of these bigger options.

Samsung isn’t the only brand offering a TV that doubles up as artwork – the Hisense Canvas 65 Inch 4K Smart TV is another option with its own Art Mode that swaps out the black standby screen, and is priced at £949 or £901 for members at AO.com. There’s also the LG Gallery TV AI released this year, with the 65-inch model priced at £1,249 on Amazon.

Meanwhile, one Argos shopper who bought the Samsung 32 Inch The Frame Smart QLED TV praised: “Love this TV, looks amazing in standby mode with one of the thousands of options of art available. Easy to set up, good picture and sound. Everyone who’s seen it now wants one!”

‘It’s the main attraction in the room’

Another fed back: “I’ve had this for a few months now and I absolutely love it, the look of being a photo frame is fantastic and it’s had many comments from people asking if it’s a backlit photo as they didn’t realise it was the TV! The fact there is only one small cable running to the TV itself means I can hide everything in the alcove cupboard to the side, lovely and tidy!”

However, they added: “The only slight gripe is that I wish this had a higher refresh rate at this price point. I don’t use the Samsung art and have uploaded my own photos instead, which look great.”

While a third person praised: “Bought this for bedroom, very neat, fits 100% flush with the wall with a very easy mounting system leaving two wires down the wall to the control box. Easy to use, great picture.”

However, not everyone was impressed with its appearance, with one customer complaining: “The Frame TV has wires and a big black box which, unless you are able to knock through the wall behind the TV, has nowhere to go and defeats the purpose of the Frame TV being to look like artwork with no wires.”

Meanwhile, someone else wrote in a five-star review: “I bought this TV for our living room in our new house, it’s just amazing how it looks on the wall. We have a lot of windows in the room and therefore the matt screen with minimal light reflections makes this a fantastic TV. Also when not used as a TV, it’s the main attraction in the room with all the fine art and photos it can display!”
