Woman grabbed cop’s privates and made ‘X-rated’ remarks for personal ‘sexual gratification’
Robyn Murdoch, 31, made x-rated remarks to the victim and two other officers for her own “sexual gratification” in an incident last December, a court heard
A woman has admitted sexually assaulting a police officer by grabbing his privates. Robyn Murdoch, 31, also made sexually explicit remarks to the victim and two other officers for her own “sexual gratification,” a court heard.
Murdoch pleaded guilty to assaulting the same officer, and another male officer, by attempting to bite them and spit on them, and by repeatedly kicking them on the body.
She also admitted directing a sexual verbal communication at the officers by repeatedly uttering sexually explicit and derogatory remarks towards them.
The Port Glasgow offender also admitted directing a sexual comment at a female police officer, and uttering sexually explicit and derogatory remarks towards her without consent.
The series of offences took place in Port Glasgow on December 21, 2025, Greenock Sheriff Court heard.
The court was told Murdoch made the remarks intentionally and for the purposes of obtaining sexual gratification or of humiliating, distressing or alarming the police officers.
Murdoch, of John Wood Street, was also charged with urinating on the floor at Greenock police office and uttering offensive and derogatory remarks while she was in the station. Her not guilty plea to that charge was accepted by the Crown.
Sentencing has been deferred until November 4 and Murdoch’s was released on bail.
It comes as police assault incidents are at an all time high, with more than 33,000 recorded incidents last year alone – the equivalent of around an 115 a day.
The shocking figure, which represents a 15% increase from the year before, saw several top cops call for more to be done.
Speaking about the increase, Luke Mitchell, Chair of Hertfordshire Police Federation said earlier this year: ““To hear that around 115 police officers and staff are assaulted every day is absolutely shocking.
“It is a level of violence that is deeply troubling and leaves our members with physical injuries and psychological scars that can take a long time to heal.
“Behind every one of these attacks is a real person with family and friends. They are going to work to serve and protect the public, and are being met with violence and abuse.
“No one should have to face being assaulted as part of their working day. It is totally unacceptable, and it needs to change.”
