An EFL side have brutally sacked their most succesful ever boss after a poor start to the season. Andy Woodman took Bromley to League One for the first time in their history last season, but he has now been dismissed after winning just two games in all competitions this season.

Owner and Chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves said: “I would firstly like to offer my sincere thanks to Andy for all he has achieved during his time with us.

“It’s no surprise that this club has reached new heights and Andy has been fundamental in helping us achieve that. I would like to reassure our supporters that we will be entering this new chapter with the same ambition and determination to keep moving this football club forward.

“On a personal note, Andy has been a pleasure to work with, and I wish him all the best for the future.”

Woodman, who is father of Liverpool shot-stopper Freddie Woodman, was a goalkeeping coach and Head of Goalkeeping at Arsenal before being appointed as Bromley manager in 2021.

During his time with the Ravens, he won three trophies and guided them into the Football League for the first time in their history. He also led the club to their first ever trophy when they won the FA Trophy in 2021/22, beating Wrexham at Wembley.

After their maiden trophy, Bromley dramatically earned promotion to the Football League for the first time in their 132-year history in 2024, before winning the League Two title last season.

However, Bromley have struggled this season, and only Wigan are currently below them in the table.

Byron Webster will be taking charge on an interim basis whilst the club appoint a permanent replacement. Bromley’s next game comes on Saturday against Peterborough.
