‘I found the perfect solution to cut my heating bills this winter and keep my home looking nice’
With energy costs putting pressure on household budgets, I went searching for a cost-effective solution to the brutal UK winter – and found the Vision E-Line Solus Horizon electric stove
It’s fairly impossible for any homeowner to avoid the noise surrounding rising energy costs. With bills through the roof and heating costing an arm and a leg, I have been trying to search for a more cost-effective way to battle the brutal UK winter.
With a long hot summer sometimes resulting in a bleak winter, I decided to start my search back in September. Electric blankets are decent, but often an eye-sore. Electric and gas heaters also present the same problem. But my search took me somewhere I hadn’t previously considered – an electric fireplace.
Now, I have attempted electric fires in times gone by. Often I found them expensive, loud and completely unrealistic. That is until I found the Vision E-Line Solus Horizon Electric Stove, which has completely changed the game.
The Vision E-Line Solus Horizon Electric Stove bridges the gap between classic wood-burner charm and contemporary electric convenience. Designed for homes without a chimney or flue, it delivers a plug-and-play centerpiece with strong build quality and realistic visual effects.
The product comes with a decorative pipe which attaches at the top and sits against the wall. It makes the fireplace look real and like it wouldn’t be amiss in a quaint country cottage.
Horizon’s standout feature is Vision’s so-called TriLight technology. Unlike entry-level electric fires with flat, repetitive patterns, this system offers nine flame colours, nine fuel-bed hues, and five variable speed settings.
Paired with ember beds and an optional upgrade to hyper-realistic logs, the look is convincing. It also features an integrated crackling sound effect with variable volume, adding an auditory layer that many other competitors skip.
While the appearance means the electric fire is onto a winner, how is the heating? With it being the most integral part, the functionality certainly doesn’t let the product down.
The stove offers two primary heat outputs – 0.9 KW and 1.8 KW – along with a cool-blow fan mode for summer circulation. While 1.8 KW is designed for supplemental or zone heating rather than warming an entire home, it heats typical living areas quickly.
And heating up is definitely its strongest point – and it’s certainly cheaper than putting your heating on.
The fire itself is operable via discrete manual buttons, a remote, or a smartphone Wi-Fi app. You don’t even have to get up from the sofa to start it.
As for safety, it includes a 7-day timer, thermostatic control, and open-window detection that shuts off heat if drafts are sensed.
And if you don’t want to heat up your home, there’s no worries. There’s a flame-only mode, which means the fire runs ambient lighting without heat for an evening glow without generating heat. It really provides a great atmosphere.
While the price tag seems hefty at first, it works out cheaper than using your central heating constantly and also is sure to last a long time with its robust design.
For modern homes or spaces lacking a traditional hearth, the Solus Horizon justifies its price tag with top-tier flame visuals, flexible smart controls – and a dependable warranty.
It’s truly changed my home for the better and i cannot recommend enough.
