Moment Ukraine obliterates total Russian column in ‘kill field’ manoeuvre as Zelensky’s males ‘take again 90% of key metropolis’ in counter-attack
This is the incredible moment Ukrainian armed forces destroyed an entire Russian military column with a ‘kill box’ manoeuvre.
The dramatic scenes were captured today as Russian troops attempted to advance through the eastern Ukrainian village of Nove Shakhove.
Footage shows how Ukrainian troops deployed artillery, armour and drones to swiftly eliminate Vladimir Putin‘s troops in a strategic move known as the ‘kill box’, which is designed to trap the enemy by targeting them from three different sides.
The impressive video, which was shared on X, has drawn praise from social media users, who applauded the Ukrainian army’s tactics,
‘That’s some serious tactical execution’, one social media account commented.
Another said: ‘Another advance turns into a kill box [.] Reminder that drones and coordination now decide the battlefield in seconds.’
‘Ukraine’s precision with drones and artillery in Nove Shakhove is unreal. That ‘kill box’ tactic is straight out of a textbook—dozens of Russian soldiers eliminated in one move’, a third wrote.
The video showing Ukraine’s impressive war tactics comes as the country said today that it controls nearly 90 percent of the strategic northeastern town of Kupiansk.

Ukraine’s military chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said in a Telegram post: ‘Thanks to active search and strike operations, we managed to repel the (Russians) from Kupiansk and take control of almost 90 [percent] of the town’s territory’.
Russian Defence Minister Andrey Belousov later told a televised meeting of top defence officials that Ukrainian forces were trying unsuccessfully to take control of Kupiansk.
Syrskyi’s remarks come despite the chief of Russia’s general staff telling President Vladimir Putin last month that Russian forces had taken control of Kupiansk.
Kyiv denied the town had changed hands and a Ukrainian commander said last week that Ukrainian forces had retaken parts of it in an operation that encircled Russian troops.
Kupiansk is a strategically important railway hub that has been largely destroyed in nearly four years of war in Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy posted a photo of himself at the entrance to Kupiansk last week.
In a video clip posted on his social media account, he underlined the importance of Ukrainian successes on the front line ‘so that Ukraine can achieve results in diplomacy.’
Kyiv is under pressure to make territorial concessions as U.S. President Donald Trump tries to secure an agreement to end the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War Two.

The counter-attack in Kupiansk, if its success is confirmed, bucks a trend seen throughout 2025 as Russian forces have made gradual advances, albeit at what Kyiv has said are heavy losses.
The United States has offered to provide NATO-style security guarantees for Kyiv in talks on ending the war but there has been no agreement on what Zelenskiy called the ‘painful’ issue of territorial concessions.
