Queen of Ally Pally Farron Sherrock opens up on tough yr after break-up of darts’ energy couple and well being issues

Fallon Sherrock insists she is ‘getting back to normal’ ahead of her World Darts Championship return after enduring a difficult year.

The Queen of Ally Pally will face world No 21 Dave Chisnall in the first round on Thursday evening.

Her return to Alexandra Palace comes after a challenging year in which she broke up from fellow darts star Cameron Menzies and struggled with her ongoing kidney disease.

Sherrock even announced a plan to take a sabbatical in 2026 at one stage but now says she has been recovering well.

‘I feel 100 per cent better than what I did. I’m not going to jinx anything,’ she said.

‘I definitely feel a bit more energetic and you know, more positive in myself and less tired.

‘My darts are slowly getting back to normal, so I have nothing to be unhappy about.’

Sherrock is hoping to advance beyond the first round for the first time since the 2019-2020 edition, when she made her iconic run to the third stage – the first time a female had ever done so in the tournament.

This is her sixth appearance at the World Championship in seven years and Sherrock had not lost her popularity with the fans.

In July, she split from Menzies, her partner of four years. Menzies was in the headlines this week for cutting his hand in a frustrated reaction after losing to Charlie Manby. He later revealed that he was emotional as his uncle Gary recently died.

They met while playing in an online darts league and competed in a doubles team, and Menzies revealed he then wooed Sherrock over a KFC .

Their shock break-up was first revealed by Vincent van der Voort, the winner of four ranking PDC titles, on a podcast. Speaking on Darts Draait Door, he admitted Sherrock had confided in him but was left in the dark over the reason for the decision.

Lifting the lid on the earliest days of his relationship with Sherrock, Menzies had previously admitted: ‘it started off with a KFC.

‘I had known Fallon for years in darts and played doubles with her years ago. We met in an online league in Southampton.

‘The rest is history as they say. It started off with a KFC.’

Alongside her break-up, Sherrock has battled her ongoing health issues this year. She was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2014.

The 31-year-old has been outspoken about the challenges of living with her condition, which saw her receive treatment in 2017.

Sherrock has previously shared that due to taking multiple medications to combat the disease has given her a ‘moon face’.

‘All I want is to practice at home for a few hours a day – but I can’t do that,’ Sherrock told Online Darts.

‘I’ve also had to cancel a few exhibition events recently because I simply lack the stamina.

‘I just have to find myself again. I have to get healthy again – and once I’ve done that, anything is possible.

‘That’s why I’ve had to severely limit the tournaments I participate in – and that hurts because I love darts.

‘I just hope that I’ll be fit again in a year or two and come back really well.’

‘My main goal is, of course, the World Championship,’ Sherrock said.

‘But I also definitely want to be part of the Grand Slam – because I think if I really am going to take a year off next year, I want to make a statement beforehand.’
