Artwork considered Banksy seems at foot of Centre Point skyscraper in London
The work, which has been attracting attention, shows a child in a beanie hat and wellingtons lying on the floor next to another person in a bobble hat who points up to the building above
A new piece of street art, believed to be the work of elusive graffiti artist Banksy, has appeared in London, depicting two figures lying on the ground and gazing up at a towering skyscraper.
The artwork features a child donned in a beanie hat and wellies alongside another individual in a bobble hat, both sprawled on the pavement beneath the Centre Point building near Tottenham Court Road in central London. The piece emerged on Monday.
Banksy, who has kept his true identity under wraps, has yet to claim the artwork as his own. The same artwork has also appeared on the side of a building a few miles away in Queen’s Mews in Bayswater.
In September, the enigmatic artist made waves with a mural portraying a protester sprawled on the ground clutching a blood-stained placard, while a judge, decked out in wig and gown, towers over him brandishing a gavel.
This provocative piece materialised on an outer wall of the Queen’s Building, within the Royal Courts of Justice complex.
It was promptly concealed and placed under the watchful eye of security personnel before efforts to remove it commenced.
Some interpreted the artwork as a commentary on the arrest of hundreds of individuals for showing their support for Palestine Action by wielding placards at protests.
Palestine Action was outlawed by the Government as a terrorist organisation in July following activists’ damage to RAF planes.
The court service confirmed its legal obligation to preserve the character of the building due to its listed status.
