BREAKING Arne Slot’s poor choice haunts Liverpool once more as Reds maintain onto Fulham draw

Arne Slot’s Liverpool dropped more points on Sunday after an incredible strike from Harrison Reed at Craven Cottage

Arne Slot has somewhat steadied Liverpool’s ship in recent weeks, but he’s still navigating through choppy waters.

The Reds are having to dig in, and they don’t look convincing, but crucially, they’re not losing games as they were throughout the last autumn period. Slot’s side came under pressure again on Sunday, being forced to change the game from the first minute.

The Dutchman was cautions his approach and a ghost from Liverpool’s past that haunted them in the first half as Harry Wilson beat the offside trap to continue his golden vein of form. It was the same old story for the Reds, cut open in their absent midfield.

Too often this season have Slot’s side been overrun and outrun in the middle of park – and even after Florian Wirtz netted following a tight offside decision – Liverpool looked stretched.

Fulham, and Wilson, had the run of Craven Cottage as Liverpool looked leggy.

It’s each and every week now for Slot, the clock strikes the 70th minute and the Reds’ fitness levels dip. It’s a stark contrast to Jurgen Klopp’s side that would run teams into the ground.

“Our midfield is so open, I am scared of going to Emirates on Thursday,” one fan moaned on social media.

“I swear down, I’m falling asleep here. What is this garbage Slot has got us playing,” a second said. As a third shared: “Slot and Liverpool don’t look like they are even attempting to get a winner here!!”

“How can Liverpool be this bad now. Slot has ruined this team,” a fourth admitted. And another added: “Main problem being our midfield which is so bad, cannot hold onto the ball, no creativity and bypassed with ease.”

Cody Gakpo thought he’d saved Liverpool blushes until a goal from the gods barely one minute later from Harrison Reed. Reed wasn’t closed down by the absent midfield and let fly from 30 yards out, bending it past an outstretched Allison.

Alan Smith said on Sky Sports: “Quite incredible! He will never hit a better shot than that! That was the strike of a lifetime! That was impossible to stop. What a goal.”

It’s Arsenal next for Liverpool, and Slot has a lot to think about
