M1 closure sparks East Midlands Airport chaos after cattle trailer overturns in collision
A closures to part of the M1 is expected to cause early morning delays for those looking to access a UK airport after a major collision.
The M1 in Leicestershire is closed northbound this morning (January 8) between J23 (Loughborough) and J23a, used by many to gain access to East Midlands Airport.
A trailer carrying cattle has been involved in a collision and has reportedly overturned, leading to a response by emergency services.
Leicestershire Police are also in attendance and National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management.
National Highways ae warning people to expect delays and advised motorist to allow extra time for their journeys.
